Vassar presented the findings from its nearly three years of study into why some colleges and universities—even those with limited resources—graduate their students at a far higher rate than others. The research was presented in the context of a convening of educators from a dozen institutions, foundation leaders, and policy makers at The Vassar Institute for the Liberal Arts.
The BA/MSc collaboration focuses on global climate change and will prepare students to help generate new ideas that may offer solutions. Students will earn an undergraduate bachelor’s degree from Vassar and a master’s in science from the University of Edinburgh.

In March, representatives of Vassar, the University of Edinburgh, University of Global Health Equity in Rwanda, and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay convened on the campus of the revered University of Edinburgh in Scotland to collaborate on initiatives incorporating the principles of the liberal arts.
