The American Academy of Religion has established the Lawrence H. Mamiya Excellence in Public Service Award that honors the legacy of the late Professor of Religion and Africana Studies Lawrence Mamiya, who taught at Vassar for more than 35 years.
Workshops on “Undoing Racism” spawned the formation of AREJ (Anti-Racism, Equity and Justice), an organization that spurs dialog on race on the campus and in the surrounding community.
Vassar’s photography club PHOCUS approached the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center with a proposal for an exhibit of student work that would accompany the last stretch of “American Impressions: A Nation in Prints”.
Vassar College has received a $156,000 grant from the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation that will fund faculty-mentored research projects conducted by six students over the next three years.
