A conversation over lunch between President Elizabeth Bradley and Chinery Foundation attorney and Trustee Jayne Kurzman ’68 led to a $1.3-million gift for a new neuroscience lab housing eight new state-of-the-art microscopes.

At the first Vassar Repertory Dance Theatre Homecoming, April 4–5, alums spoke about their real-world experiences after graduation during a panel discussion, conversed with current students and observed Vassar dance rehearsals. They even got to don their own dancing shoes!

As today’s students face an increasing amount of stress in their daily lives, Vassar is training some student-facing administrators on how to help them alleviate it.

Why do some colleges and universities—even those with limited resources—achieve high graduation rates while others do not? Over the past three years, several Vassar administrators, a faculty member, and a student have been engaged in research designed to help answer this question. They will present their findings and continue this discussion at a symposium on April 29 at The Vassar Institute for the Liberal Arts. Representatives from a dozen colleges, foundation leaders, and policy makers are expected to attend.

Students, faculty, administrators and alums gathered at the Institute for the Liberal Arts on March 11 and 12 to talk about paths—most of them non-linear—to successful entrepreneurial endeavors.

Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy enabled Vassar to acquire a powerful quantum computer that will be used as a teaching tool for physics majors and others at the College.
