Marina Hrytsenko ’23 was studying abroad in London when war broke out in her native Ukraine. Now she’s back home helping with her country’s defense effort.
On 2024 Reunion weekend—spanning Thursday, May 30, through Sunday, June 2—nearly 1,300 alums (and about 400 guests) graced the campus, enjoying a jam-packed weekend of activities and connection.

First-year Haley Schoenegge won the first Vassar Women’s Track and Field National Champion honor since 2015 on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships as Schoenegge took home the 1500 meters National Champion title. Schoenegge also earned First Team All-American status in the 5000 meters with a fourth-place overall finish.
At this year’s Commencement ceremony, more than 550 graduating seniors were celebrated for their resilience—the class matriculated at the dawn of COVID. British actor and filmmaker Emily Mortimer offered inspiring words to the graduates.
