Accessing the Institute: Student Funding for Signature Programs and Beyond
Institute for the Liberal Arts
Yes, the Institute is for students!
RSVP required, students only. RSVP Here.
Curious about the Institute? Want to gain insights into securing up to $25,000 for an Institute-funded Signature Program? Join two experts from the Vassar Grants Office for a 90-minute workshop on translating your ideas into impactful projects for your community or organization. We will discuss things like brainstorming, planning, budgeting, organization, communication, and writing. Get familiar with the newest space on campus while learning how to access its funding! Catering will be provided.
Signature Programs allow Vassar students, faculty, and others to collaborate with partners across the campus, in the local community, and around the country to engage in meaningful work and dialogue about the most pressing issues of our time. Each November, the Institute funds creative, multi-disciplinary proposals that use the Institute space to convene thinkers, activists, locals, visitors, students, teachers, and learners around a particular topic.
Previous and current Signature Programs include:
- EcoVisions: Finding Your Place in Environmentalism
- Promoting Partnerships to Advance Educational Justice in Poughkeepsie
- The Entrepreneurial Mind and the Liberal Arts
- Belonging and Beyond: Using Future Histories to Reimagine Teaching and Learning
- Transgressing Borders: Reimagining Education and the Role of Learning in Community
- Soundscapes and the Anthropocene
The Institute wants to fund YOUR ideas. Student proposals are especially encouraged.
This workshop will be catered by the Salt Line.
Campus community only, please.
